This multi stage race is set against the backdrop of some of New Zealand’s most breathtaking scenery. Competitors will not only haul up some of the South Island’s highest peaks, they will also experience the delights that the dramatic coastline has to offer.

The fastest teams will complete this race in approximately four days taking on only one to two hours sleep in total while the back of the field will have up to seven days to finish the course which will cover a total distance of 500km.

New Zealand woman sets world record by running three days STRAIGHT and completing 310 miles without sleep

A mother-of-four has beaten the world record for continuous running after she went without sleep for three days, travelling an incredible 310 miles.

Ultra-distance runner Kim Allan dashed 332 times around a park in Auckland, New Zealand, as she completed her epic feat, smashing the previous women’s record of 301 miles.

However, the 47-year-old’s supporters did not actually tell her she had passed the milestone set by American Pam Reed for two hours – as they did not want her to stop.
