October 7th 2018

I woke up feeling 1000% better this morning, so I hopped in the Jeep and headed to Newport Beach.  For weeks I’ve been itching to check out the bike path that several people told me about that encircles the inner bay of the town.  I parked the car near the entrance to the trail, started my GPS and just began running.  It’s a quiet, safe, relaxing path that’s wide enough to share with bike groups without feeling like you’re going to get run over by some Tour de France wanna be wearing a spandex cycling shirt emblazoned with the name of a corporate sponsor that, in actuality, has nothing to do with him or his inability to ride, text and read crap on his phone all at once.  I simply turned up the music in my earbuds and put one foot in front of the other.  When it was all said and done – I had 7 miles in the bank.

I went home and spent the evening watching highlights of the NFL and baseball playoffs, while cooking a decent dinner and cracking open a bottle of vino.  Sometimes you just have to celebrate the small wins.
