Never quit. I’m sore from the work this week – but hard work will pay off on July 25th.
Rest today. Long run tomorrow. Nothing wrong with a 10 miler in Laguna Beach….
TGIF!

When Leonidas of Sparta was told by the Persian king to lay down his weapons, that was his answer. Molon Labe. “Come and take them”. Be defiant in training.
Today was interesting. Yesterday was a VERY long day, and by the time I crashed I was absolutely fried. The mix of long commuting times, medication and stress culminated in me sleeping right through my alarm this morning at 3:30. So much for the morning workout. Made up for it in the evening with s spin class and some yoga. Felt guilty missing a workout – but I REEEAlly needed the rest.
Bottom line: listen to your body. If it needs rest, then REST. It helps you heal and makes tomorrow’s training session better.
Blue sky your goals. Grow them until they seem nuts to those around you. And then put the work in to achieve them.
3:30 wake up call. Strength training and a 45 min run this morning.
Feed the wolf…..every day.
Day Two of training. The morning was rough. I’m on some medication, so I felt completely wiped out last night. Slept right through the 3:30am alarm and woke up in a rush to get out the door for work. My evening workout had to make up for my missed morning session. So…..I started with some strength work and some time on the dreadmill. Then I hit the bike for a quick spin before shutting it down for the evening. Before I crashed for the night, I did a little yoga – and by a little yoga, I mean I basically watched a yoga class while trying to touch my toes for a full 20 minutes. The best I could do was just wave at them from a distance. They got the message.
….is definitely scenic and fun, but a bit short. So be ready to do some laps if you are staying here, and looking to put in a few miles before your first trip aboard Space Mountain!
This morning I’m feeling thankful for everyone that’s helped me along the way.
6 full months of IRONMAN training begins this morning. Up at 3:30, got a strength training and 45 min run. Evening workout was 45 min of the bike and an annoyingly cold swim.
I have to say: if you are a runner, and you are looking for a solid resort to stay at while in Walt Disney World, the Old Key West Resort provides a 2.5 mile path for a morning / evening jaunt. Check out the path!
In a single word: KONA. Here’s 2019’s race summary link:
Swim 2.4 miles.
Bike 112 miles.
Run 26.2 miles.
Brag for the rest of your life.
I took some time today to highlight some goals for the year.
Made the decision to begin rebuilding myself. Not the first time I’ve elected to try to do this – but this time I will succeed.
