June 11th, 2020

I’ve had a few solid days of training this week, mostly on the bike.  The best part about it is that I’m not very sore!  That’s a relief.

Some news: IRONMAN released an email update to registered athletes for their 2020 Santa Rosa 140.6 mile event.  The organization needed to push off the race date from July 25th due to the COVID scare.  So the new date is October 17th.  But in a VERY cool move, IRONMAN allowed the athletes to select from one of 4 upcoming races: you can compete in the Santa Rosa event, or ones in Wisconsin, or Texas this year…..or Coeur d’Alene in June 2021.

…I selected the 2021 race.

I won’t be ready for the 2.4 mile swim in time to compete effectively in the next 3 months, as I’ve not had access to the local pool since in mid March.  I have to really applaud IRONMAN for their willingness to provide several options to its athletes.  I think it’s an extremely cool thing for them to do!!
